Dr. jur. Bernard gr. Broermann, founder and shareholder of Asklepios Kliniken

The founder and shareholder of Asklepios Kliniken is the auditor and lawyer Dr. jur. Bernard gr. Broermann.

Dr. Broermann initially studied medicine and chemistry in Berlin, completing his pre-degree certificate in chemistry and his preliminary examination in medicine. He then graduated in law and business administration. He earned the title of master of business administration, took the first state examination in law and completed a doctorate in the same subject. Aged just 26, he was awarded an INSEAD masters degree with cum laude from the European Management School in Fontainebleu/France. Dr. Broermann then went to Boston/USA, where he graduated from the Harvard Business School MBA (Master of Business Administration) programme summa cum laude.

He worked for the auditing firm Ernst & Winney in Boston/USA and in Frankfurt from 1970 to 1976, and then completed the second state examination in law and the public accountancy examination.

He has worked as an independent lawyer and auditor since 1976, and was an associate of the Ernst & Winney auditing firm until 1983.

In 1976 he founded Jupiter GmbH. The company develops and leases retail properties.

Dr. Broermann founded the Asklepios Group in 1965, which now has 45,000 employees and generates €3 billion in revenue. Asklepios introduced a quality management system in Germany that the Group has since developed to become a comprehensive system for quality management and patient safety over the last 25 years. Today Asklepios provides over 2 million patients with top-level medical care in its roughly 150 healthcare facilities each year.

Dr. Broermann founded Dr. Broermann Hotels & Residences GmbH in 1999, which owns the Falkenstein Grand Kempinski, Villa Rothschild and, since 2015, the Atlantic in Hamburg.
