The Asklepios Clinical Complex, Bad Abbach
The Asklepios Clinical Complex, Bad Abbach includes an acute hospital with departments for orthopedics and rheumatology / clinical immunology on the one hand, as well as a center for orthopedic- and rheumatological rehabilitation on the other hand. Patients therefore have the option to receive hospital- and rehabilitation treatment at the same place.
Cooperation clinics of the University of Regensburg
At the end of the nineties, the 1st Orthopedic Clinic was link up with the University of Regensburg, and it was integrated into their teaching- and research programs. Prof. Dr. Joachim Grifka, professor for orthopedics at the university, was nominated as the superintendent. The cooperation was expanded in April of 2006: The new senior consultant of the clinic for rheumatology / clinical immunology, Prof. Dr. Martin Fleck, is simultaneously responsible for research and teaching in his faculty at the University of Regensburg. This close connection of science and clinical operations will provide the patients with treatment facilities, which always correspond with the latest scientific knowledge.
In compound affiliation with the Asklepios Clinical Complexes
Since the autumn of 2004, the clinic has been in compound affiliation with the Asklepios Clinical Complexes, the leading private clinic operator with more than 90 facilities in Germany, Europe, the USA, and in the future, also in China.
