Main Treatment Priorities

The Clinic for Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology is specialized in the following disorders:

Inflammatory / rheumatic disorders of the system:

Rheumatoid arthritis
Bechterew’s/Bekhterev’s disease
Psoriasis arthritis, reactive arthritis
Collagen diseases, e.g. SLE, scleroderma, polymyositis, phospholipid-AK-syndrome, Sjögren’s syndrome
Vasculitides, e.g. Wegener’s disease, panarteriitis/polyarteritis nodosa, polymyalgia rheumatica, temporal arteriitis

Non-inflammatory rheumatic diseases:

Metabolic diseases with rheumatic complaints, e.g. gout and pseudogout
Bone diseases, e.g. osteoporosis
Degenerative diseases of the joints and of the spinal column, e.g. arthrosis
Fibromyalgia

Special immunological diseases:

Congenital and acquired immune deficiencies
Borreliosis/Lyme disease

In-patient treatment is particularly necessary in cases of :

Rheumatic diseases concerning several organ systems
Severe pain with the simultaneous necessity of intensive physiotherapeutic treatment
Interactions between different medications and their negative influencing of vital organs

Patients after transplant of stem cells

Since January of 2006, we have been active in the further treatment of stem cell transplanted patients in cooperation with the clinical complex of the University of Regensburg. In a two-step concept, the patients are transferred to our clinic after stabilization of blood formation, in order to prepare them optimally for dismissal or for rehabilitation measures through adjustment of their medication therapy, as well as by providing individually customized physiotherapeutic treatment. Medical treatment is carried out in close cooperation with the physicians of the university hospital.
